Unknown Sector is one of the most engrossing and addictive action shooting games online; challenging you to navigate your way through ninety-five different levels, each one different and a little more difficult than the last. You'll see the type of enemies you can expect to encounter and get a basic idea of how many enemies you're going to see as well as the difficulty rating of the level. For a beginner, it's a good idea to choose a sector with a low difficulty rating. This gives you the chance to get used to the controls of the game and how the game is played. While there will be a limited number of options in the beginning, you'll unlock more as you progress in the game.

Your basic ship in Unknown Sector is more than enough to get you through the first few sectors in the game. In Unknown Sector there are three different types of parts you can buy for your ship in the Market - centers, wings and internals - and each part comes in three different sizes - small (S), medium (M) and large (L). It's important to remember, however, that your ship may not have a slot you can use to equip it with a part that you buy so before you make your purchase, check what slots you have available by visiting the Hangar. The Hangar is also where you will go to equip your ship once you've made your purchase. Checking the Hangar first will help prevent you from wasting money and will help you make the best decisions to improve the strength of your ship when you're looking at parts you can purchase. There are twenty different types of ships you can purchase (also from the Market) so it's also important to make sure the part you are interested in buying can be used on your ship. Instead of looking at the parts you can buy, consider looking at your ship and your ship's performance first. Decide what aspects of your ships performance could use strengthening and look for parts that will meet that need. You'll get the most out of your money that way and build the strongest ship possible.

Overall, Unknown Sector is one of the most fully features and entirely engrossing action shooting games online simply because of the options offered and the length of the game. All too many action shooting games end just as you're starting to really enjoy them. This game, on the other hand, gives you exactly what you're looking for. The new weapons and ships keep the game fresh and interesting so you never feel bored despite the length of the game. Experienced players are especially going to like that aspect of the game while beginners will love the chance to really get a feel for the game before things start getting difficult.
