TheDarkMan Walkthrough

TheDarkMan is an excellent physics shooting game that will challenge you to think and to aim carefully if you want to make it through the game. The basic premise of the game is fairly easy to understand; you are an archer and there are men with apples on their heads. You need to shoot the apple off the person's head without shooting them. If you shoot the person, you fail the level. You have only a limited number of arrows to use in each level and if you can't complete your objective with the number of arrows you're given, you'll fail the level. For that reason, it's important to aim your shot carefully and use the smallest number of arrows possible to remove all of the apples. It isn't nearly as easy as it sounds. This is a difficult game that gets increasingly challenging as the game progresses which is really what makes the game so much fun. This is an addictive game that will keep you playing level after level out of sheer stubbornness and the desire to see what the next level holds.

In the beginning, TheDarkMan is fairly simple with puzzles mostly comprised of straight shots. Like most physics shooting games, however, things get much more difficult with each level. New obstacles are introduced and you have more apples to shoot which makes proper aim all the more important. You need to get the angle and strength of your game nearly perfect in later levels if you want to solve the puzzle and see what's next. While newcomers to physics shooting games are likely going to have a hard time getting the hang of this one, with a little bit of patience and practice, even beginners will be able to get through the game. The greatest advantage for beginners is that you can retry a level as many times as you need to in order to complete it. If you fail, you can choose to retry which will take you to the start of the level instead of the start of the game. That keeps the game from getting boring or monotonous for beginners who have trouble with later levels as it will prevent them from having to start over from the very beginning if they fail.

More experienced players of physics shooting games may find the first few levels of TheDarkMan a bit too simple, but as the game progresses, even the most skilled players will find the challenge they're looking for. The obstacles get much more difficult to navigate around and the limited number of arrows can definitely make things more difficult. As you play, you'll be able to determine which boxes can be moved with your arrows to give you a clear shot and which boxes won't be moved by them at all. Boxes that can't be moved will have to be navigated around which definitely ups the difficulty level.

The great thing about TheDarkMan is that there are several points bonuses you can collect throughout the game that will boost your score and get you closer to reaching a high score. This is great for the competitive folks who find a game most fun when they have are able to compete for a spot on the leader board. For beginners, though, it might be a better idea to just focus on shooting the apples. Going for a high score is always fun, but the points bonuses won't do you much good if you run out of arrows or shoot someone and lose the level. As you get better at aiming and get more control over your bow you can try going for the points bonuses but play it safe until you're a little more confident.

Overall, TheDarkMan is an excellent physics shooting game anyone, regardless of skill or experience level can play and enjoy. Experienced players are going to find this game signigicantly easier than someone who is new to the genre, but it won't be so easy they don't want to play. While most physics shooting games will simply challenge you to meet a level goal with only a limit on how many shots you can use, this game ups the challenge by adding the stipulation that you can't hit the person with the apple on their head. The best way to get through this game is to focus on the apple. Look at there each apple is located and what obstacles stand between your arrow and that apple. Work backwards. Look at where your arrow needs to end up and then trace backwards to the archer. Having the end point in sight first will help you focus. More in this game than most other physics shooting games online, careful aim is important. Make sure your angle is right and you're using appropriate force before you shoot your arrow. If you keep all of this in mind, you should be able to get through the game. Take some time with this once. It's well worth it.
