Planet Blirp Walkthrough
Planet Blirp is a shooting game developed by NX8, the developer of Infinite Monsters. Planet Blirp features sprite graphics, intuitive controls, and a storyline to move the action along (if you care for such things).
Planet Blirp begins with a cutscene explaining the story. You are an astronaut on an expedition to Planet Blue. Your ship crash-lands on the planet, and you find that it is inhabited by hostile aliens! You will have to fend off waves of enemies while accomplishing mission objectives such as destroying terrain to venture on or healing fellow astronauts. Astronauts that you rescue will help you to combat enemies, so at least they pull their weight.
Planet Blirp uses a keyboard and mouse control scheme commonly found in shooting games of its type. The arrow keys or WASD keys are used to move your character and the mouse is used to shoot. Press the R key to reload your weapons. It is a good idea to reload between waves.
Like Infinite Monsters, Planet Blirp features a shop that can be used to purchase more powerful weapons. You dual-wield in this shooting game, so you can buy a different type of weapon for each hand. I like to use a powerful weapon (such as the Beamo) in one hand, and a fast-firing weapon (like the Plopper) in the other. You also gain experience from killing aliens in this shooting game. When enough experience is gained, you will level up and earn one ability point. Ability points can be used to unlock abilities such as increased shot power and reduced reload speed. I advise increasing your health and healing ability. Having lots of health and being able to regenerate it quickly will be very useful in the later stages of the game when the aliens become more powerful!
Planet Blirp is an exhilarating shooting game that is great for killing time while you kill aliens. Unfortunately, the game does not save your progress, so you will have to complete it in one go. Whether you have time to finish or not, you can still have a blast playing Planet Blirp!
