Firefight is controlled by using the keyboard and the mouse. Move your character by using the WASD keys (or arrow keys). The mouse is used to aim and to shoot. Cycle through your weapons by using the Q and E keys (or mouse wheel), or you may select weapons directly by using the number keys. The R key reloads your current weapon, the V key uses med-kits (if they have been purchased), and the C key toggles build mode. The P key pauses the game.
Firefight is a top-down shooting game where your goal is to survive for as long as possible against an onslaught of enemy soldiers and units. This shooting game features intuitive controls, outstanding graphics, epic background music, two modes of gameplay, and an impressive arsenal of weapons to slaughter your enemies!
The first gameplay mode in Firefight is Survival Mode. The objective of this mode is to survive against waves of enemies for as long as possible, as its name implies. At the end of each in-game day (which is about three minutes of real-time), your progress will be saved and supplies (ammo and med-kits, if purchased in the shop) will be dropped to help you survive the next day. The second gameplay mode of this shooting game is Protect Mode. Protect Mode is similar to Survival Mode, but the objective is to protect military assets from enemies. This mode also starts you off with some additional experience points so that you can get the jump on enemies early on.
Both modes of Firefight start you off with the lowly 9mm pistol, but as you progress, more powerful weapons will become available to you. Killing enemies in this shooting game earns experience points, similar to an RPG. Instead of leveling up, however, experience points are used like money to buy weapons and other items in the shop. To access the shop, click on the shop button in the lower-right corner of the screen at any time. From here, you can buy new weapons, med-kits, and other items. You can also increase the level of weapons and items that you already possess!
Aside from standard weapons and items, you can also play the role of engineer in Firefight using build mode! After buying sentries from the DIY shop, you can enter build mode (C key) and place them on the battlefield to help you fight off the enemy soldiers. Cycle through available sentry types by using the Q and E keys (or the mouse wheel) and place them by left-clicking on the battlefield. Sentries are especially helpful in this shooting game's Protect Mode.
