Boxhead Walkthrough

Boxhead is a top-down shooting game where players must rescue civilians from a zombie onslaught and is the first game in the Boxhead series. The game features simple three-dimensional characters, detailed backgrounds, and chilling sound effects that add to the horror aspect of this shooting game.

The objective of Boxhead is to rescue civilians that are trapped in a zombie-infested city, and bring them to the rendezvous point so that they may escape before time runs out. The first few levels are easy, but as the game progresses, it becomes more of a challenge to save the civilians as well as yourself! In later levels, you will be required to rescue more civilians and fend off more zombies. To make matters worse, zombies move faster and become more aggressive as well.

Luckily for you, you will be given more weapons to deal with the undead hordes as you progress through the levels of Boxhead. A good shooting game features a variety of weapons, and Boxhead is no exception. There are four weapons to choose from: your starting pistol, which has unlimited ammunition, the Uzi, which gives you automatic fire, the shotgun, which is deadly in close combat, and hand grenades, which are useful for killing groups of your undead adversaries. I advise using your pistol when you face small numbers of enemies at medium range, since you have unlimited pistol ammunition. Be very careful when using grenades, because you may harm innocent civilians! It should be noted, however, that you cannot harm yourself with your own explosives, so dropping a grenade at your feet to kill a group of zombies that are surrounding you might be a useful tactic, as long as you do not harm any of the civilians that you are trying to rescue. If you are low on ammunition, there are ammo crates that spawn randomly on the map that can be collected to replenish your supply.

Mastering Boxhead will take skillful maneuvering, rationing of your ammunition, and of course, patience. Civilians have a very low movement speed, so you may have to move slowly yourself so that they can catch up. In earlier levels, you can run ahead and clear a path of them, but later levels will be swarming with zombies, so it will be a better idea to stick closer to them. It may also be helpful to notice the radar in the lower left corner of the screen. The radar will help you note the locations of zombies (represented by white dots), civilians (represented by blue dots), and the rendezvous point (represented by the red dot) relative to your character (the center of the radar screen). Finally, the game has no health system, so you will die if a zombie hits you once! You are given the option to retry the level, however, so you will not have to start from the beginning of the game.

Boxhead is a thriller that is bound to please fans of the shooting game genre, as well as fans of the horror game or zombie apocalypse genres.
